Health experts agree that stopping smoking is the best
goal for cigarette smokers. Yet, with smoking prohibited in almost all public
circumstances, smokers unable to quit (or not yet willing) find themselves in
awkward situations. Where can smokers turn when they cannot smoke in formerly

smoking? Now, smoker's can find help with natural, safe, non-prescription
CIG-NO. CIG-NO delivers fast acting relief to help manage the smoking habit.
Smokers can breathe easier with CIG-NO. No more social ostracism! No public
harassment!
Ten Years in the Making
Ten years ago a patient asked Dr. Mary Cody, originator of
CIG-NO, to "find something for my smoking habit." Those few words launched the
CIG-NO revolution. Dr. Cody soon began to experiment with Plantago Major,
the active ingredient in CIG-NO. After careful testing, Dr. Cody hit upon just
the right formulation that has led to CIG-NO Smoking Deterrent Spray, Caps and
Drops. Today's CIG-NO is a potent health tool: a cessation remedy for smokers
who want to quit... an everyday management tool for the smokers who want to
control their smoking.
Pure and Natural
CIG-NO is a registered homeopathic remedy. Homeopathic remedies are
derived from natural sources with nothing added. CIG-NO's pure formula is
scientifically blended for its ability to harness the body's natural defense
mechanism. While nothing is more important than the smoker's commitment to break
the nicotine habit, CIG-NO helps the body detoxify itself- effectively, gently,
naturally.
The structure of the Plantago Major plant includes a remarkable
glycoside of the monoterpene class (iridoid) called Aucubin. This
glycoside has been studied and numerous scientific papers have been written
about this particular member of the monoterpene family. The general
characteristics of the iridoid monoterpene are as follows:
- Sedative
- Anesthetic
- Analeptic
- Anaseptic (Anti-viral)
- Anti-toxic
- Anti-Histaminic
- Anti-Inflammatory
- Anti-Rheumatic
- Anti-Tumor (Anti-Blastic, Anti-Cancer, Anti-Carcinogenic)
- Diuretic
- Expectorant
- Hypotensive
- Organoleptic (Odor, Taste)
The anti-toxic, anti-inflammatory and expectorant characteristics suggest why
the plant is useful in lung disorders, and as inferences as to the effect of the
Plantago Major on smokers. Exact cause and effect relationships are not
yet fully understood. However, the above suggests real reasons for the noted
effects on smokers.
Question: How does CIG-NO
work?
Answer: It creates an aversion to
tobacco.
Question: What is the quality of
this aversion?
Answer: It makes the smoker feel
as if they have had too much to smoke. It alters the perception of pleasure.
Question: Why does it work?
Answer: As with many herbs and
pharmaceuticals, the precise explanation for the mechanism of action is unknown.
For example, no one knows how aspirin reduces fever. In the case of Plantago
Major, several known attributes of the plant may be responsible for
the aversion and the alteration in the perception of pleasure. (See reference
regarding Aucubin).
Question: Is it addictive?
Answer: CIG-NO is 100%
natural, safe and non-addictive.
Question: Can this product be
used with nicotine smoking deterrents?
Answer: CIG-NO has been
used successfully in conjunction with the transdermal patch.
Question: What does F.D.A.
registered mean for a Homeopathic preparation like CIG-NO?
Answer: It means that we have met all the requirements as to
claims, labeling, and manufacturing that the F.D.A. has set forth for such
products, and have received from them a N.D.C. labeler code.
The following is a summary of the results of the Clinical Trial "An Open
Evaluation of the Tobacco Aversion Caused by Plantago Major Tincture in Heavy
Smokers," which was conducted for the purpose of demonstrating that Plantago
Major, the active ingredient in CIG-NO causes an aversion to tobacco.
The test was conducted by a certified clinical laboratory on heavy smokers
who did not wish to stop smoking. The results concluded that 83% of the subjects
felt an aversion to tobacco for an extended period of time.
This highly positive correlation confirming the aversion to tobacco caused by
Plantago Major suggests that CIG-NO can be used to help a person to stop smoking
or to reduce the regular use of cigarettes or other tobacco products.
- Four out of five (83%) of test subjects "recorded some aversion to
smoking..."
- All subjects were heavy smokers (at least a pack a day) with a history of
smoking (at least 5 years)
- The aversion created was reported as "a decrease in pleasure of
smoking..."
